Walking in Albania, 1994

The main thing about walking there is - you don't get to meet anyone else walking. There's too much else to worry about. And really, it's just too hot in the summer (mad dogs and Englishmen...)

Here are two pictures of Tirana.

And one from much further and much higher.

The hills (mountains) in the South reach about 6000ft - not very high.

BUT - they start at the sea! (And no-one around).

First the villages (stopping for refreshment of course).

Higher...... and higher still......

Didn't make the top (too hot, too late, needed proper gear......)
